  • What is a Languages Café ?

    A Languages Café is a linguistic event where people can meet, talk and share in any language they want while having a drink.

  • Which languages do we speak during a Languages Café ?

    Any language you want, as long as you find someone else to talk with in that language. As host, I will always be here to chat in English. But, if you wish, you are free to open a table in Spanish, German, Japanese and so on...

  • I would like to participate, but I suck in language, is that a problem ?

    Of course not, there is no level restriction and beginners are welcome. If you struggle to talk or find your words, the other participants will help you with pleasure.

  • Can I talk in French ?

    Of course, if you struggle to use the language of your table, no one will blame you if you use some French to unblock the situation. But keep in mind that the goal is to get an immersion in the foreign language.

  • Why did you choose La Chouette Tricheuse to organise the Languages Café ?

    La Chouette Tricheuse is a game board bar, which means that you can play board games in addition to get a drink. Board games can be a good icebreaker to help the shyest of us to start a conversation. Moreover, it’s a really cool place :-)

  • And if we don’t want to play board games ?

    Don’t worry, board games are not mandatory, it’s going to be a joint decision if we play a game or not.

  • Are there any participation fees

    The event is free but takes place in a bar, so you will have to order at least one drink. Moreover, playing games is charged 3€ to each participant.
